What is the narrative that brings together numerous found objects, such as an existing printing house and a grain silo? These are tropes shorn of original meaning and repurposed, as the factory becomes a studio and the silo a staircase. The silo is constructed as though a palimpsest of Native American patterns emerged from the ground, illuminated by a single oculus above. The building is about a reduction to its bare essence of in-situ poured concrete and windows that frame the human figure. Details of new interventions are merely used to heighten the contrast with found objects such as the stair, which is simply inserted in the silo without mechanical connection, the new respecting the old. Subject can matter.
